‘Circumscribe’
Dimensional painting and drawing: oval forms within, around and outside of other forms, and across architectural space. A rectangular, horizontal concrete slab on the floor contains a white chalk drawing. Above it on the wall a red pastel oval encircles the square window space, which in turn contains a drawing (in embroidery thread) on painted netting.
In the last image, to the right of Circumscribe, is another work made across the doorway – an indication of how the many works I made in this outhouse overlapped and worked together. I haven’t sorted out the images for this work yet – there are so many photos of this room that have not yet been looked at and sorted, but I hope to get something on the ‘exhibitions and projects’ page that shows the wider context of the pieces made in this space and how they formed a strange coherence within the room.
