‘Motional Oval‘
This painting/drawing installation was one of many made in a half demolished outhouse in the old abandoned Tinco paint factory, Barreiro Portugal. Three oval forms contiguously arranged reference each other whilst being materially and spatially very different. The one floating high up was made by cleaning away the dirt on the old wall and is outlined in pencil, charcoal, white chalk and acrylic paint (pale ochre). Below that and echoing it, an oval made of silicon and aluminium balances inside an empty window space. Lying forwards of these, atop a small concrete slab on the floor, a small oval is drawn in white chalk.
