WORK 1
Dimensional drawing on the back of the gallery door that expanded and contracted when someone entered or left the room. To the right was a pale blue rectangular plane that echoed the shape and dimensions of the doorway.
‘When the opening and closing of a door is imagined as turning the page in a sketchbook.’
~ a thought I had at the time.
INFO
Materials: industrial tubing threaded with aluminium wire, two pins, acrylic paint, the door, wall and architectural context. Dimensions: variable. Also in the video is Moyra Derby’s ‘Painting Index, 659,653, 41’. It lies across my pale blue plane, as a response and as part of the project ‘In Correspondence’.
‘In Correspondence’ was an 8-month project with Moyra Derby culminating in site responsive works at RAUMX London – an independent gallery / project space – founder artist & curator Martina Geccelli. See exhibition here
