‘As’
Part painting, part drawing and part structure. A large, white, gesso plane formed the painting’s ground (and was almost indistinguishable from the white wall). On top of the the gesso ground was a Prussian Blue rectangle, with a modulated surface. Down its right-hand side the blue paint was worked more translucently along the whole edge (in contrast to the very flat, severe edge on the left) – this paler, brighter blue overshot the bottom, pluming down and outwards. The white panel was hung in an offset position on top of both these elements and a graphite line at the bottom left reached out to the left and down towards the floor.
